Port Kembla Local Court does not sit every day, but the Registry is open Monday to Friday between 9.00am and 4.30pm. The phone number is 1300 679 272.

Audio Visual Link (AVL) facilities are available at this location in courtrooms 1 and 2.
The Port Kembla Children’s Court handles cases involving children and young people under the age of 18. These cases include matters related to the care and protection of individuals in this age group, as well as criminal proceedings involving defendants who were under 18 years old at the time of the alleged offence (except for traffic offences).
You can find the court on Darcy Road in Port Kembla at the same location as the Local Court. The Children’s Court normally sits at Port Kembla on Tuesdays and select other days of the week.

The Port Kembla Children’s Court also offers the Boost Program, which involves mentoring young people subjected to an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO). This program provides young people with 15 hours of mentoring each week and was developed through collaboration between ACSO, Youth Justice NSW and the University of Wollongong. Funding for the program was made possible by a grant from the former federal government’s Safer Communities Fund.
