A strong history in the Illawarra

At Morrisons, our roots run deep within the Illawarra region and our history is intertwined with the community we’ve proudly served for over four decades. Central to our history is Graeme Morrison, the founding partner of our firm, whose unwavering dedication to providing comprehensive legal advice and representation has left a lasting mark on the Illawarra legal landscape.

Graeme Morrison – Partner

Graeme’s remarkable legal journey started with the Aboriginal Legal Service, where he began honing his legal acumen. Subsequently, he served as a solicitor at the Public Solicitors, known today as Legal Aid. This invaluable experience allowed him to work directly with individuals facing legal challenges and hardship, further developing his expertise and dedication to providing compassionate legal support for all.

In 2016, Morrisons began a transformative chapter. The firm rebranded from Graeme Morrison Law. This expansion marked the arrival of Matthew Ward, who has been a key figure within the firm since 2012 and is now a partner.

Matthew Ward – Partner

Matthew Ward is a testament to the commitment and excellence that define Morrisons. Having joined the team as a young legal professional, he quickly ascended the ranks and was recognised as an Accredited Specialist in Criminal Law by the NSW Law Society in 2017. In 2019 and 2020, he became a finalist in the Lawyers Weekly 30 under 30, in the category of Criminal Law. Matthew has become an indispensable asset to the firm, focusing his expertise on criminal and traffic law.

Our expert team of solicitors

Graeme and Matthew lead a team of dedicated solicitors, both of whom bring their unique legal background and skill set to Morrisons.

Solicitor Analise Ritchie is an example of this expertise. With her academic background, including a Bachelor of Law and International Studies and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, Analise exemplifies her commitment to delivering high-quality legal advice through her impressive track record of successful cases. During her university years, Analise also actively contributed her time and expertise to the University of Wollongong Law Student’s Society.

She took on the role of mentoring first-year law students, sharing her knowledge and guidance. Additionally, Analise showcased her legal acumen by participating in various court advocacy competitions, achieving notable success in these endeavours.

Cameron Meaney, also a solicitor at Morrisons, brings a wealth of knowledge with a double degree in Laws and Commerce, majoring in International Economics from the University of Wollongong. His journey began with an internship at Morrisons, reinforcing his commitment to local criminal law and meaningful change.

His passion for the community is also reflected in his initiative of founding the charity, Young Clothes for Homelessness (YCFH), which earned him a Community Engagement Scholarship.

Cameron successfully finished his Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice and earned admission as a practising solicitor. He has represented clients in a variety of legal cases – covering hearings, bail applications, sentences, trials and appeals – within both the NSW Local Court and District Courts.

A common mission

Our team share a collective mission: to provide support and solutions to individuals and families during challenging times. This commitment extends beyond the courtroom, as Morrisons actively mentor law students and sponsor local community events, nurturing the future leaders of tomorrow.
